Benny celebrates a classic grand final win
13 SEPTEMBER 2021 – In their first year in the Perth Football League the Baldivis Brumbies win a premiership.
Ben Aiberti is one of the most dedicated and hardest workers we have at Ludus Sports Performance, and it was great to see him rewarded with another premiership medal. On Saturday the Baldivis Brumbies C1 reverse team faced off against the Melville Rams (of which Paul Onofaro another one of our long-standing members was playing for, unlucky Paul).
Conditions were perfect apart from a slight breeze but nothing our steely defender couldn’t handle. The contest was tight all day and came down to a shot on goal after the siren in over-time. Lady luck was in favour of the Brumbies as they stole the victory from the Rams with a goal after the siren.
Benny was an integral part of the reserves team all year, even when head played a run of games for the league team, he still supported his teammates in the reserves team. AFL is not an individual sport, and it takes a team to win premierships, although Ben was there on the day and able to play his role because of his hard work and dedication to his physical preparation throughout the year.
Ben will tell you himself that when he first came to Ludus Sports Performance he was a little overweight and out of shape which definitely affected his ability to play good footy consistently. As soon as we got him on a program he dug straight into and has barely missed a session in the 2 years he’s been with us. Along with his training program Ben has been working closely with Ryan on his nutrition and eating habits, which has resulted in a dramatic change to his body composition.
Ben’s willingness to change has seen him take leaps and bounds with his strength, power, speed, and endurance all of which have carried over onto the footy field. It helped go to that next level and play multiple league games this year, which is a massive achievement considering the talent in that side (note: the Brumbies league team won the C1 league premiership by 10 goals!).
We know Ben will continue to work hard on and off the field and help his team make their mark in the B-grade amateurs next year.
