“For athletes who want to take their game to the next level”

We empower athletes to become the best versions of themselves

pursue excellence. strive for achievement.

Our coaches have worked with

“Not all strength and conditioning programs are created equal”

Strength training should make athletes better not worse… but sometimes that’s not always the case.

Almost every athlete does some form of strength and conditioning training these days. Whether it’s:

– A program you follow from the club,
– Something that’s made up on the spot by your coach,

– Or a program you put together yourself…

Most athletes think they have the preparation box ‘ticked’. But if simply ticking the box was enough, we’d expect to see resilient, powerful and confident athletes everywhere.

Except we don’t.
In reality, we see the opposite. Athletes who are injured, deconditioned or unable to tap into their athletic potential.
This is not their fault.
Athlete’s are regularly fed misinformation, training gimmicks, and cookie-cutter programs that don’t actually make you better. Instead of bulletproofing you from injury, most strength and conditioning programs are ineffective, only serving to increase fatigue and injury risk — the complete opposite of what it should be doing.
If athletes go long enough without the support they deserve, they may go the rest of their athletic life never achieving what they were always capable of.
That’s why we created the Performance Program
… because we believe no athlete should walk away from the sport they love before they find out exactly how far they could go.

Anthony Nodari

“I come to Ludus because Ryan is the best S&C coach I’ve been around. He helped me through my time at South Fremantle, he’s the one person I trust and I know I can rely on to keep my body up to scratch.”

Tegan Brown

“I came off a recommenadtion from a friend, and I found that it wasn’t just a gym it was a community. Most gyms you go to you might get a hello from someone but that’s not often. We as at Ludus everyone wants to knwo how you are, what you do, how your going with your injuries and their really invested. It’s nice.”

Jeremy Ha

“I come to Ludus because there’s a community of like minded people who strive to be the best versions of themselves. Ludus is different because it has a community of staff and athletes that are working together to help each achieve their goals.”

How it works

Our Performance Program improves athleticism to support the physical demands of sport. We help athletes of all levels bulletproof their weaknesses, decrease injury risk, and build strength, power and speed. Here is how it works:

1. Create your Action Plan

When athletes fail to plan, they are planning to fail. But through no fault of their own, most athletes start a gym program without a clear plan, a purpose and achievable targets.

Every athlete who begins working with us starts by designing their own Athlete Action Plan. This Action Plan helps discover the unique pathway that will develop your strength, power, speed and overall athleticism.

Over the course of this performance testing experience, we help our athletes:

  • Pinpoint the weaknesses that are holding you back and bulletproof them once and for all.
  • Identify the blind spots in your performance and discover how to turn them into opportunities that will enhance your sports performance.
  • Reveal the strengths that make you a talented athlete and ID your X-Factor.

By the end of the testing experience, we’ll know how to help you get an edge and advantage on your competition.

2. Develop your winning mindset

Now that we understand your physical performance profile and you have your Athlete Action Plan designed, it’s time to help you create a winning mindset. Developing mental toughness through Mental Performance Training is the key to performing at your best during the moments it counts the most.

If you want to be able to rise to the occasion when the pressure is on and turn dreams into reality, it’s mental toughness, grit and self-belief that help make that happen. Consider what the great Michael Jordan said:

“The mental part is the hardest part and I think that’s what separates the good players from the great ones.”

Just like MJ, Tiger Woods & Michael Phelps, all the greatest athletes realise that physical preparation is not enough to go from good to great. That’s why all our athletes work on their mental preparation, as well as their physical preparation, developing positive routines and rituals, helping them deal with adversity, and improving their self-talk.

3. We'll Create Your Individualised Program

With the important foundations laid for success, we’ll get to work designing your individualised program. This program will take into account your weaknesses, strengths and blind spots and seamlessly fit your training program into your schedule. All your strength and power training, fitness and conditioning, and, sprint mechanics will be customised based on what you need to maximise your potential for your sport.

Once your program is designed and coordinated with your schedule, you’ll be ready to join our program and get to work.

4. Start Training & Putting In The Work

With the preparation for training complete, it’s now time to get to work and prepare for competition.

You’ll join our Performance Program training sessions and join up to 14 other athletes in our semi-private training sessions (1-on-5) who want the same thing as you — to succeed in sport.

Under the guidance of our expert coaching and rehab staff, you’ll complete your training program at our facility. Every week, you’ll take a small step forward to improving your preparation.

Over time, these gains ‘aggregate’ to the point where you’re stronger, faster, fitter and more athletic.

Events that would otherwise injure you, don’t.

Events that would otherwise rattle your confidence, don’t.

Events that would normally make you give up, will make you fight harder.

With the right preparation, anything in sport is possible.

Ryan Gaias

The secret to athletic success.

The truth is…. there is no secret, well hard work, dedication, sacrifice and a bit of good luck isn’t necessarily a secret.

If an athlete can live by these attributes they have a much better chance to succeed in sport and life.

Unfortunately too many people wait for these things to come to them and never succeed.

Those who seek hard work out, dedicate themselves to a goal or dream and sacrifice immediate gratifcation, find that success comes to them.

It’s our job to guide these athletes on their journey to success.

The important thing to realise is that these qualities aren’t natural they are built up through training and mastered over time.

What we offer is not just a gym for people to train out of, we’re offering the solution to building a successful athletic career.

The Performance Program is designed for growth both physically and mentally.

This isn’t an empty promise. I’ve been testing this over the last 10+ years, in that time I’ve been able to help many athletes achieve real success.

My job is and always has been, to guide athletes to personal and athletic success.

If you want a complete system that prepares you for sporting success, the Performance Program is for you.

If you want to get the most out of your mind and body the Performance Program is for you.

And, if you want to put the odds in your favour that you reach higher and achieve more in sport, the Performance Program is for you.

why choose us?

☑️ The comprehensive performance testing we do with every athlete will uncover your strengths, weaknesses and blindspots which helps us design an individualised program to prepare you for sport.

☑️ Your individualised program will then be built out seamlessly around your weekly schedule. No matter how busy sport (and life) is, we make it easy for you to look after yourself. Strength training, speed training, recovery sessions… you name it we will design the right solution for you.

☑️ Our comprehensive semi-private training schedule means you never have to train alone, again. Whether you’re in the gym for a strength & power session, on the field for a speed session, or joining our rehab sessions to get over that injury for good, we have you covered.

☑️ Every session in your training week is supervised by some of the most experienced coaches in the state. Your training will be in safe hands.

☑️ Along with the physical training, we provide you with customised nutrition coaching, to help you maximise your performance.

The Program

Is my program individualised for me?

No two athletes are created equal, and because of that, all our programs are individualised as needed for our athletes. After completing your performance testing and gameplan, we will be able to identify exactly what you need to take your performance to the next level in a way that is unique to you.

How are my improvements measured?

We are constantly measuring an athlete’s performance. Whether that’s in day-to-day training and reporting, or more formally every ten weeks with performance testing, we hold ourselves accountable to data. We believe that what doesn’t get measured, doesn’t get improved.

How many times do I need to train to get results?

All training programs are individualised for our athletes and for that reason, some athletes will see results with two sessions, while others might need more. We make suggestions on training frequency based on variables like your schedule, the training season you’re in, and, your training history. As a general rule, the higher your exposure to strength, power and speed training, the more likely it will be you need at least three sessions per week. If you’re more junior to this form of physical preparation training, two times per week usually works well.

Am I coached and supervised when I train?

We have a comprehensive semi-private training schedule with over 25 sessions available every week. During these sessions, you will work with up to 14 other athletes with 2-3 coaches on duty. This makes sure we can keep a quality 5:1 ‘athlete:coach ratio’ so every athlete gets the attention they need.

Do you work on my speed and agility?

Yes. For athletes who compete on their feet, speed, change of direction and agility usually contribute significantly to your best performance. Because of these reasons, we do specific speed and agility sessions on field to work on sprint & running mechanics so you move well, and move fast.

Whats the earliest age I can start training with you?

Because we train athletes, there is an expectation that there is a high level of maturity during our coaching sessions. While we don’t usually work with athletes less than twelve years old, one of our most mature athletes is ten (!!), so we take every application on a case by case basis. If we’re confident after meeting that you’ll fit our training culture well, we’ll invite you to join. If you’re just a little too young, we’ll let you know when we think you’ll be ready.

I live far away and travelling will be hard. What options are available to me?

If you really want our coaching and support but can’t make it regularly to our facility, we do provide online coaching. While it’s not cheaper in price (because we don’t see you in the facility, it’s actually more work to make sure you get the quality of service you deserve as we have to review all your training online). You can choose to train at your local facility or at home if you have equipment.

What is the full list of inclusions for the Performance Program?

With your membership to the Performance Program, you’ll receive:

– 6 x Performance Testing sessions per year
– Unlimited coaching within our semi-private environment
– Full access to our facility
– Your own individualised program
– Mindset coaching
– Speed, Agility & Running mechanics
– Little to no out of pocket Sports Physiotherapy

When you pay for these services separately, it could easily cost $12,000 per year. With the Performance Program membership, you’ll pay no more than $87 a week.

Why does the program go for a year?

You didn’t get to where you are now overnight, and you won’t get to where you want to go with a quick-fix, either.

You’ve probably heard that saying that “Rome wasn’t built in a day.” The same thing applies to your ambition in sport:

“Great athletes weren’t built in a day.”

That’s why our program works in season cycles. It gives us enough time for our expertise and training systems to combine with your work ethic to get incredible results.

I can't commit for a year. Do you do shorter-term training plans?

A lot of athletes (especially at the higher levels of sport) only have three and six-month blocks available to them before their other commitments recommence. If you’re an athlete in that position, we can still help. We’ll assess your situation on a case-by-case basis and if it makes sense for you to join our program, we’ll get the wheels in motion. Extra fees may apply.

What are the different options for paying?

There are two options for payment.

Our yearly commitment upfront is a flat fee of $4000. This is a $500 or 11% saving.

More commonly, our athletes pay weekly on a direct debit membership. The cost is $87 per week.

Can I put a hold on my account when I go away?

Absolutely. We provide up to 6 weeks per year at no cost. This will extend the length of your membership proportionate to the membership suspension. For longer durations, fees may apply to maintain your position in our program (because we have a capacity 120 athletes at any one time).

I didn't see an option for training with you guys online. Do you do that?

Yes, we do look after athletes remotely. If you live interstate or can’t make it to the facility, please reach out to us and we’ll assess if we can help.

What is the cost of joining the Performance Program?

The cost of joining the Performance Program is $87 a week. To see the complete inclusions in the Performance Program, scroll up to the section above this FAQ.

If I pay upfront do I get a discount?

Yes. When you pay upfront for the year, you’ll receive $500 off the yearly fee.

Why is it more expensive to work with us for a shorter period of time?

There are lot of inclusions in the program that you don’t pay for that we build into the yearly subscription. If you choose to work with us for a shorter period of time, we have to account for these extra inclusions. We also want to incentivise those that are truly commited to the process.

I don't like direct debit (those big commercial gyms ruined it for me), what are my options??

We totally understand. Both Ryan and Tom worked at big commercial gyms and understand how a lot of trust has been lost with gyms and direct debit (DD) memberships. If you don’t feel comfortable setting up a DD with us, paying upfront for the year is still available to you.
